From cradle to college, our goal is to grow disciples who are able to think theologically, whose faith is life-giving and sustaining to whatever life brings their way, and who understand themselves as deeply beloved and connected to community.
There are several ways we approach this. During worship, children are welcomed and invited into conversation for a time with our pastor. Soft toys are available for young ones and coloring bags for older children. Rocking chairs are available for families with babies.
After the time with children, kids are invited to Sunday school where we use biblical storytelling and hands-on activities to invite our kids into critical exploration of the stories of faith. Our emphasis is on imagination and exploration, connecting the biblical story with our own lives. Service is emphasized and questions are welcomed. Our curriculum includes leadership opportunities as the kids take what they are learning into the worship service.
Older youth stay in worship through the sermon, then leave with a discussion leader to explore themes from the sermon.
Loving care is provided in the nursery for babies and toddlers. Children of all ages can be found playing on our beautiful playground, or picking berries and veggies in our garden after church.
